Proposed Nobel Cup 2025/2026

 If the Nobel Cup is held in 2025, the dates planned is Friday, 31st October 2025. 

If the Nobel Cup is included in Sports Day 2026, the date will be Friday, 30th January 2026.

Nobel Cup was established in 2013 consisting of sports not played on Sports Day. The focus is limited to the following team sports....

Netball/Captain Ball

Basketball

Badminton

Chess

Football/Futsal

Table Tennis

The Nobel Cup was founded in 2013 as part of a manifesto to be fulfilled by Chew Wei Zhuen, the President of the Student Council of Nobel International School following the June 2013 Student Council Election. The tournament was coordinated by Ng Kuan Yew, the Deputy President, and the Sports Relations Head of the Student Council, Alexander Cornelius. 

The Dates of the Nobel Cup were as follows: 

20th/21st September 2013

11/12th November 2014

10/11th November 2015

4th November 2016

13th November 2017

13th November 2018

11th November 2019

10th November 2020

30th November/1st December 2021

15th July 2022/22nd November 2022

10th November 2023


As part of the 20th Anniversary Sports Day, there was no Nobel Cup being held due to the rushed timeframe between the 2023 and the 20th Anniversary (2024) Sports Day. However, for 2025, the Management so far is not keen on reviving the Nobel Cup. Should momentum build for a case of the Nobel Cup's revival, the date scheduled will be 31st October 2025, during the CCA Showcase Week. Nobel International School has planned for CCA Showcase & Promotion to be held from 24th to 28th October. 

The points of the Nobel Cup 2025 is planned to be contributed to Sports Day and Founder's Run 2026. The format for 2026 is to be decided based on the outcome of Nobel Cup 2025.

HOLDING OF NOBEL CUP IN 2025 OR 2026

If Nobel Cup's scores is to be contributed to the Sports Day, the Management also had to decide whether to hold the Nobel Cup in 2025 or 2026. This is based on situational analysis involving the Nobel Cup. Holding the Nobel Cup in 2025 will result in freed up space for activities in November, December 2025 and January 2026. 

The management is tongue tied on holding the Nobel Cup in 2025. The top management is suggesting January or February 2026 for the holding of Nobel Cup while the Sports and Recreation Department is suggesting October 2025. 

The management intends for Nobel Cup to be held in 2026, which is dangerous to Bullseye due to the presence of new students to the Junior and Senior School. They intend for Nobel Cup to be given to the masses to enjoy. 


VENUE OF NOBEL CUP

Potential venues include Forum 19, Sports Garage, or other sport complexes closer to Nobel's Damansara Jaya location. The Management is also considering a Saturday Nobel Cup to account for space limitations or constraints by holding the match in the school compound.


FORMAT OF NOBEL CUP

The format for the Nobel Cup will see a round robin match just like other previous Nobel Cups.

Why Bullseye Cannot Win Sports Day 2024 and 2025

 Tldr: The Management is responsible, as they do not want Bullseye winning too many times.  Bullseye, the Sports House in Nobel International School, had won so many Sports Days, Nobel Cups and Founder's Runs. Since 2014, Bullseye has made victory a habit, causing alarm among the management.
